Over the weekend it was reported that Twitter has suspended the personal account belonging to GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Twitter said the account was temporarily locked after “multiple violations of our civic integrity policy.”
Greene was elected into office in November for her first term as a Georgia Congresswoman.
The suspension is reportedly set to last for 12 hours, according to NPR.
Greene has been a vocal supporter of Trump’s voter fraud accusation claims, as well as the QAnon conspiracy theory.
Twitter did not say which tweets of Greene’s specifically violated their policies.
Her suspension follows Twitter’s decision to ban tens of thousands of accounts from their platform that were sharing QAnon information.
Newsmax reported on Greene’s response to the suspension:
Greene said Sunday the suspension of her account was due to “the borderline monopolistic stranglehold a few big tech companies have on the American political discourse.”Twitter announced on January 8th that they were permanently suspending President Trump from their platform.
“After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”
